Tison Cemetery
 From exit 29 at Interstate 95 in Brunswick, take highway 82 west towards Waynesville, Brantley County. About 12 miles you will come to Post Road, the Golden Isles Speedway will be on your right. Turn right onto Post Road heading north. About .4 miles on your left [before the railroad tracks] will be a driveway, with a wooden arm across it, the cemetery is located on this property. You must have permission from the land owner to view the cemetery as this is a private dwelling for several people. According to Ken Bush, one of the land owners, there are about two cemeteries for whites, and one for slaves. The slave cemetery has not been viewed by me as yet. This land was once owned by the Tison family and was called Coleridge, and was at one time located in Glynn County before 1921 when Brantley County was formed. |
