Davis-Drury Cemetery

The Davis-Drury Cemetery is located on Emanuel Church Road.  From Exit 29, off of Interstate 95, travel West [towards Waycross] about 1.9 miles.  Turn right [north] onto Emanuel Church Road.  About 2.8 miles on your right will be the gate to the cemetery.  It is a cyclone fence and gate with a "Posted, no hunting, etc." sign.

Open the gate, and drive straight back to the cemetery.  Be respectful and remember my motto:  "If you open it, close it."

This cemetery goes by many names, depending upon which family member you ask; sometimes it's just Davis or Drury Cemetery, other times Edgy will be part of the title. Regardless, everyone here is a descend of James Myers and Isabella Dodge and this burial site was started after the burial grounds on Hopewell Plantation were "condemned". Those family members whose remains could be found were removed from Hopewell to this new burial ground.
