This Indenture
made and entered into on this 24th day of October in the year of our Lord
one thousand nine hundred and seventeen (1917), by and between S.A.
Burney and I.K. Burney both of said Glynn County, as the
parties of the first part, and A.R. Berrie of said Glynn county, as
the party of the second part.
Witnesseth: That the said
parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of three
hundred dollars ($300.00) to them cash in hand paid, at and previous to
the ensealing and delivery of these presents, and the receipt of which
they now hereby admit, has granted, bargained, sold and conveyed, and by
these presents doth grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of
the second part and his heirs and assigns, all of that tract lot, parcel
of land situated, lying and being in said Glynn County, Georgia, and on
Blythe Island therein, and on that part of Blythe island commonly known as
Naval City and forming in shape a rectangle with ends four hundred and
fifty (450) feet, and sides seven hundred and fifty (750) feet in length,
and containing eight (8) acres be the same more or less, and having the
courses and distances following and to say: commencing on the south side
of Louise Avenue where it is intersected by the west side of Twelfth
Street and running thence westwardly along the south line of Louise Avenue
four hundred and fifty (450) feet to the east line of Fourteenth Street,
thence southwardly along the east line of Fourteenth Street seven hundred
and fifty (750) feet to the north line of New York Avenue, thence
eastwardly along the North line of New York Avenue four hundred and fifty
(450) feet to the west line of Twelfth Street, and thence northwardly
along the west line of Twelfth Street seven hundred and fifty (750) feet
to the initial point; and bounded north by Louise Avenue; west by
Fourteenth Street south by New York Avenue; and east by Twelfth Street and
being readily identified by reference to the map of Naval City made by
E.A. Penniman, county surveyor of Glynn County, Georgia and now on
file in the office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of said county.
Together with all and
singular the tenements and hereditaments, the remainders and reversions,
the houses, out houses and buildings, the rents, issues and profits and
all and singular the rights, members and appurtenances to the same in any
way belonging or in any wise appertaining.
To have and to hold the
said bargained and above described tract of land with appurtenances unto
the said party of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever and in
fee simple.
And the said parties of
the first part will and their heirs, executors and administrators shall
the right and title in and to said bargained and above described tract of
land with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part and his
heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, against the claims of all
persons whomsoever forever warrant and defend by virtue of these presents.
In testimony whereof, the
said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands hereon
affixed their seals and delivered these presents on the day and year first
above written.

This Indenture,
made and entered into on this the 23rd day of August 1918, by and between
Phillip Massman, of the County of Philadelphia, and State of
Pennsylvania, as the party of the first part, and A.R. Berrie of
the County of Glynn, and State of Georgia, as the party of the second
part.
Witnesseth: That on the
6th day of July 1916, the said party of the first part, by this certain
indenture of that date agreed to convey the property hereinafter described
and hereby conveyed to the said party of the second part upon the payment
of one thousand dollars ($1000.00), and the said one thousand dollars
($1000.00) having been paid to the true intent and meaning thereof to the
said party of the first part, the said party of the first part for the
said one thousand dollars ($1000.00) cash in hand paid the receipt of
which is hereby acknowledged, has granted, bargained, sold and conveyed,
and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said
party of the second part and his heirs and assigns: All of that certain
lot, tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in said Glynn County
and State of Georgia, and on Blythe Island therein containing two hundred
and sixty one (261) acres of land, more or less, and in that part or
portion of said Blythe Island known as “Naval City” which said tract is
divided up into blocks and lots, and is particularly known and identified
on and in the map and plan of said Naval City as made by b E.A.
Penniman, Civil engineer, of said Glynn County, as follows, to wit:

hundred and forty two (242), bounded according to said map on the south by
the United States Navy Yard property and on the North by Broadway Street,
excepting from said block lots number forty two (42), forty three (43),
forty four (44), forty five (45), forty six (46), forty seven (47), and
forty eight (48), which have heretofore been sold.

two hundred and thirty five (235) bounded according to said map on the
south by Government Navy Yard property, and on the north by said Broadway

land unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns, will
forever warrant and defend against the claim or demand of all persons
whomsoever by virtue of these presents.

THIS INDENTURE made and entered into on this the 1st day of November 1921,
by and between Mrs. Addie R. Lipthrott, of said Glynn County,
Georgia, acting by and through A..R. Berrie of said Glynn County,
Georgia, as the party of the first part, and the said A.R. Berrie
individually, of said Glynn County, Georgia, as the party of the second
part.
WITNESSETH: That whereas
the said Mrs. Addie R. Lipthrott did in the 18th day of September
1920 executed and deliver to the said A.R. Berrie her certain
mortgage on the property hereinafter described and hereby conveyed, to
secure the said A.R. Berrie as an accommodation endorser on the
certain note for three hundred and twenty five dollars ($325.00) mentioned
in said mortgage, and the said note of three hundred and twenty five
dollars ($325.00) having been reduced to two hundred and seventy dollars
($270.00) and the said renewal note of two hundred and seventy dollars
($270.00) having matured by its face on July 15th 1921, and which said
mortgage is recorded in Volume 23, folio 741, of the records of said Glynn
County, and reference is hereto given for all purposes.
And whereas there is at
present the amount of two hundred and seventy dollars ($270.00) due under
the terms of said mortgage, and the said mortgage stipulates that if the
said Mrs. Addie R. Lipthrott shall fail to pay promptly the said
indebtedness to said bank or said bank’s assigns, or renewals thereof, and
the said A.R. Berrie shall pay the same as said endorser and the
said A.R. Berrie being given the right to pay the same immediately
upon failure of the said Mrs. Addie R. Lipthrott to pay said note
or renewal, the said A.R. Berrie shall have the right to sell said
property and all the right, title, equity and interest of the said Mrs.
Addie Lipthrott therein, at public outcry before the court house door
of said Glynn County, Georgia, between the legal hours of sale to the
highest and best bidder for cash, the property hereinafter described and
hereby conveyed to ay said indebtedness as stipulated therein.
And whereas the said
Mrs. Addie R. Lipthrott failed to pay said renewal note of two hundred
and seventy dollars ($270.00) at maturity and the said A.R. Berrie
paid the same to the Brunswick Bank & Trust Company, to which bank the
said note was made payable and the said A.R. Berrie having
advertised the said property to be sold in the Brunswick News, the
newspaper in which the sheriff’s advertisements of said Glynn County are
published once a week for four weeks preceding the sale’s day.
And whereas the said
party of the second part did on the first Tuesday in November 1921,
between the legal hours of sale offer the said property hereinafter
described and conveyed, for sale before the court house door of said
county, to the highest and best bidder for cash and the said A.R.
Berrie being the highest and best bidder for cash, the same was
knocked off to him for the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00) thereby
divesting the said Mrs. Addie R. Lipthrott of any right, title,
interest, claim or demand in equity or in law which she had or may have
had in said land.
Now therefore, said
Mrs. Addie R. Lipthrott, acting through the said A.R. Berrie
for one hundred dollars ($100.00), which is credited on said note of two
hundred and seventy dollars ($270.00) as before stated, and by the power
recited in said mortgage, does hereby grant, bargain, sell and convey unto
the said A.R. Berrie, individually, his heirs and assigns, THAT
CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY, lying and being in said State and County, and on
the island of Blythe therein containing twenty five acres, more or less,
and bounded as follows: On the east by thirty fourth street of Naval City,
on the west by a salt marsh, on the north by the lands of the said party
of the second part, also known as Kennards lands, and on the south
by a salt marsh.
TO
HAVE AND TO HOLD the said bargained and above described tract of land unto
the said A.R. Berrie, his heirs and assigns, so that neither the
said Mrs. Addie R. Lipthrott, nor any one claiming under or by her
shall at any time ever have or claim any right or title to the said above
described tract of land, with its appurtenances.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the
said Mrs. Addie R. Lipthrott, acting by and through said A.R.
Berrie, has hereunto set her hand, hereon affixed her seal and
delivered these presents on the day and year first above written and in

THIS INDENTURE,
made and entered into on this the 13th day of July 1922, by and between
W.W. Spaulding and Mrs. Ellen Spaulding, both of said Glynn
County, Georgia, as the parties of the first part, and A.R. Berrie,
of said Glynn County, Georgia, as the party of the second part.
WITNESSETH: That
heretofore and on the 12th day of October 1918, the said party of the
second part did convey the property hereinafter conveyed to the said
parties of the first part and through an error the said deed was made to
W.M. Spaulding when the same should have been made to W.W.
Spaulding and Mrs. Ellen Spaulding, the said parties of the
first part hereto.
NOW THEREFORE the said
parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of eight
hundred dollars ($800.00) cash in hand paid to the said parties of the
first part by the said party of the second part, and the receipt of which
is hereby acknowledged the said parties of the first part have granted,
bargained, sold and conveyed unto the said party of the second part, and
his heirs and assigns, ALL OF THOSE CERTAIN TRACTS, lots or parcels of
land situate, lying and being in the 26th District G.M., of said Glynn
County, Containing twelve (12) acres more or less, known as the home place
of W.B. Manoe, deceased on Blythe Island therein, and being the
same tract of land conveyed to the said W.B. Manoe by those certain
three (3) deeds, the first from Louisa C. Doerflinger, dated May
10th, 1888, and recorded in book “HH” page 544 of said county; the second
from Euphemia A. Harris, dated October 30th, 1897, and recorded in
book “RR” page 120; and the third from the Seaboard Land improvement and
manufacturing company of Georgia, dated February 17th, 1890 and recorded
in book “NN” pages 345-346, reference to which said deeds and records is
had for all purposes of description; and in which deeds the property
herein conveyed is described as follows:
1. In the said deed from
Louisa C. Doerflinger as lots number one (1), two (2), three (3),
four (4), five (5), six (6), seven (7), eight (8), nine (9), ten (10),
eleven (11), twelve (12), thirteen (13), fourteen (14), fifteen (15),
sixteen (16), seventeen (17), eighteen (18), nineteen (19), twenty (20),
twenty one (21), twenty two (22), twenty three (23), twenty four (24),
twenty five (25), twenty six (26), twenty seven (27), twenty eight (28),

Euphemia A. Harris, as fifty two (52) lots of land in block number two
hundred and forty eight (248), said block being a parallelogram in shape,
with ends one hundred and ninety (190) feet in length, and sides seven
hundred and eighty (780) feet in length, and being bounded on the north by
Glynn Avenue, on the east by eight street, on the south by Broadway and on
the west by Ninth Street.
3. In said deed from said
Seaboard land improvement and manufacturing company, as lots one (1) to
twenty three (23), inclusive and lots thirty two (32) to fifty two (52),
inclusive in block number two hundred and fifty five (255), in division
“C”; all of such description of each of said deeds being according to the
plan of said Naval City as referred to in said deeds.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the
said bargained and above described and hereby conveyed tract of land,
together with the tenements and hereditaments, the remainders and
reversions, the houses, out houses, and buildings and the rights, members
and appurtenances to the same in any way belonging, or in any wise
appertaining, unto the said party of the second part, his heirs, and
assigns, forever and in fee simple.
And the said parties of
the first part will and their heirs, executors and administrators shall,
the right and title in and to the said bargained and above described tract
of land, with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part,
and his heirs, executors administrators and assigns, against the claims of
all persons whomsoever forever warrant and defend by virtue of these
presents.

between W.W. Spaulding of said Glynn County, Georgia, as the party
of the first part, and A.R. Berrie of said Glynn County, Georgia,

WITNESSETH: That the
party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of four
hundred dollars ($400.00) cash in hand paid to the said party of the first
part by the said party of the second part, and the receipt of which is
hereby acknowledged, the party of the first part has granted, bargained,
sold and conveyed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell and
convey unto the said party of the second part, and his heirs and assigns,
all that tract or parcel of land lying in Glynn County, Georgia, Blythe
Island, Naval City Georgia. Bounded south by lands of Unites States
Government east by the Turtle River, north by division line of said Naval
City tract or tract formerly owned by Holly Kennard and others. The
land intended to by conveyed is particularly described on plot and plan
made by E.A.
Penniman C.E. 11th January 1905. Said land is
described as Northern one half (1/2) of blocks, number 249, 256 and 263.
Said halves of said block. Bounded as follows: North by Broadway Street,
east by low water Mark Turtle river, west by 9th Street, said tract of
land hereby conveyed being the same conveyed, January 11th 1905 from
D.H. Devereaux to Mrs. Annie E. Harris, and is recorded in book
“ZZ” general records of Glynn County, Georgia, less ALL THAT BLOCK OF LAND
lying and being in said County and on Blythe island therein and at the
bluff or landing of said Blythe island, and on the extreme southeast
corner of the land brought by the said W.W. Spaulding from Mrs.
Annie E. Harris by deed of March 15th, 1919, and recorded in book 3-K,
folio 20, of the records of said Glynn County, and which said block of
land contains one hundred and thirteen by one hundred feet (113x100), and
fronts 100 feet on Turtle River, said block of land bounded on the south
by lands of Fletcher Wilder; on the north, east and west by lands
of the said W.W. Spaulding and which block of land was conveyed by
said W.W. Spaulding to Mrs. Cora Wilder on December 14th,
1920 and recorded in the records of said county.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the
said bargained and above described and hereby conveyed tract of land,
together with the tenements and hereditaments the remainders and
reversion, the houses outhouses and buildings and the rights, members and
appurtenances to the same in any way belonging, or in anywise
appertaining, unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and
assigns, forever in fee simple.
And the said parties of
the first part will, and their heirs, executors and administrators shall,
the right and title in and to the said bargained and above described tract
of land, with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part,
and his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, against the claims
of all person whomsoever, forever warrant and defend by virtue of these
presents.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, the
said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands, hereon
affixed his seal and delivered these presents on this the day and year
first above written and in said Glynn County, Georgia.

J.E. Dubberly of Glynn County, Georgia, the party of the first part,
and A.R. Berrie of Glynn County, Georgia, the party of the second
part.
WITNESSETH: That the said
party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of ten
dollars cash to him in hand paid by the said party of the second part at
and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof
is hereby acknowledged, has granted, bargained, sold and forever
quit-claimed and by these presents does grant, bargain sell and forever
quit-claim unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns,
all of the following tract or parcel of land lying situate and being in
said Glynn County, Georgia, to-wit:
All of that tract or
parcel of land containing one thousand acres, more or less, lying situate
and being on Blythe Island, Glynn County, Georgia, and being the north end
of said
island and bounded as follows: on the north by Hillary
Island; on the east by Turtle River; on the south by the division line of
the tract known as “Naval City” and lands formerly of A.F. Warnke;
and on the west by Blythe Back River and being the same tract of land as
conveyed by the said party of the second part to the said party of the
first part by a deed to secure debt dated March 10, 1921, and recorded in
book “3-N” folio 258 of the general records of Glynn County, Georgia, to
which reference is had for a more complete description of the said
property.
TOGETHER WITH ALL and
singular the rights, members, easements, hereditaments, improvements or
appurtenance unto the same belonging or in anywise appertaining.

one thousand nine hundred and twenty five (1925) by and between A.R.
Berrie, of Glynn County, Georgia, the party of the first part and
R.E. Benedict of Washington, District of Columbia, the party of the
second part.
WITNESSETH: That the said
party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of ten
dollars and other good and valuable considerations to him paid by the said
party of the second part, at and before the sealing and delivery of these
presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, has granted,
bargained, sold and conveyed and by these presents does grant, bargain,
sell and convey unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and
assigns, all of the following described real property in the county of
Glynn and state of Georgia, to-wit:
All of that certain tract
or parcel of land containing twenty six hundred (2600) acres more or less,
of high land and marsh, being islands lying along the western shore of
Turtle River, which is more particularly described as the whole of Little
Blythe Island and all of Blythe Island lying north of the northern line of
the United States Naval Reserve upon said island; saving excepting and
reserving however from this conveyance the following four (4) small tracts
embraced within said description, to-say: 1. A tract of eight (8) acres
more or less, claimed by one Wilder and lying next to the
Government fence and on the eastern shore of said Blythe Island; 2. That
certain lot rectangular in shape and containing one hundred by one hundred
and thirteen (100x113) feet, lying next to the said Wilder tract,
beginning at the edge of the high land and fronting on the marsh for a
distance of one hundred feet and running back westerly along the said
Wilder line a distance of one hundred and thirteen feet, being the lot
claimed by Cora Wilder; and 3. That certain tract containing three
(3) acres, more or less, claimed by one Lipthrott, lying next to
the Government fence and along the western shore of said Blythe Island;
and 4. That certain tract of land containing three (3) acres more or less,
lying on what is known as Morrison Creek and on the west side of said
creek, that is claimed by H. Wiggins.
TOGETHER WITH ALL and
singular the rights, members, easements, hereditaments, improvements and
appurtenances unto the same belonging or in anywise appertaining;
TO
HAVE AND TO HOLD The said described and bargained premises and property
unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, forever in
fee simple.
AND The said party of the
first part, for himself, his heirs, executors and administrators, will
warrant and forever defend unto the said party of the second part, his
heirs and assigns, the right and title to the said described and conveyed
property against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons
whomsoever claiming or to claim the same; provided however that this
warranty shall not extend to that portion of the said described and
conveyed property which was formerly known as Naval City, but as to the
said Naval City portion of said property the said party of the first part
only hereby makes a quit claim conveyance.

hundred and twenty five (1925) by and between J.A. Roberson of
Glynn County, Georgia, the party of the first part, and R.E. Benedict
of Washington, District of Columbia the party of the second part.
WITNESSETH: That the said
party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of six
thousand ($6,000.00) dollars to him paid by the said party of the second
part, at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, has granted, bargained, sold and
conveyed and by these presents does grant, bargain sell and convey unto
the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, the following
two (2) tracts or parcels of land in Glynn County, Georgia, lying together
and forming one body of land, to-wit;
1. That certain tract or
parcel of land containing one hundred (100) acres, more or less described
as follows: Bounded on the north by lands originally owned by N.H.
Barnwell, south by lands formerly owned by D.C. Bacon, east by
the New Hope Plantation pine lands, and west by land now or formerly of
Mrs. M.C. Dent; for a more complete description of said tract
reference is had to two certain deeds and the plats thereto attached made
by N.H. Barnwell to A.J. Liles, one dated May 1, 1896, and
recorded in Book RR, page 161, and the other dated February 3, 1899, and
recorded in Book RR, page 162, of the general records of Glynn County,
Georgia, and
2. That certain tract or
parcel of land containing two hundred and ninety five (295) acres, more or
less, described by courses and distance around the same as follows, to-wit
Beginning at a point on the west side of the Old Brunswick & Altamaha
Canal where this tract corners on said canal with lands formerly of
Parker & Tait, running thence south 47 1/2 degrees west 70
chains and 50 links to the boundary line of the tract of land hereinabove
described thence north 42 1/2 degrees west 32 chains along the boundary
line of said tract above described, thence north 47 1/2 degrees east 114
chains along the boundary line between this tract and the lands now or
formerly of Mrs. M.C. Dent to the said Brunswick & Altamaha Canal,
and thence southwesterly along said canal to the point of beginning.
