This Indenture, of lease
made and entered into this the twenty first day of May in the year
eighteen hundred and eighty nine, by and between J.J. Spears of the
County and state of the first part, and Mrs. Laura Southard of the
same county and state, of the second part;
Witnesseth, that the said
party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of Two
hundred dollars cash in hand paid by said party of the second part, at and
before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged has granted, bargained, sold and conveyed unto the
said party of the second part and by these presents does grant, bargain,
sell and convey all that certain portion or lot of land lying and being in
that portion of the city of Brunswick known as Town Commons and bounded as
follows; commencing at the corner of lot 143 and 144 on Albany Street and
running thence west ninety feet, thence south ninety feet to the northern
line of lot 145 thence west along said northern line of lot 145 to Albany
Street, thence west along line of Albany thence north along line of Albany
Street to place of beginning, the said right, title and interest conveyed
in this deed being the unexpired lease hold interest made by the Mayor and
Council of the city of Brunswick to said J.J. Spears on the twenty
third day of February in the year eighteen hundred and seventy and
expiring on the second day of March nineteen hundred and sixty seven.
To have and to hold the
above described property as fully as held by the said J.J. Spears.

Georgia Glynn County.
This Indenture, made and
entered into on this the tenth day of June A.D. 1904, by and between
J.J. Spears, of the county and state aforesaid, and hereinafter
designated as the first party, and Mrs. Laura Southard, of the same
place and hereinafter designated, as the second party.
Witnesseth, that whereas,
the first party some thirty years ago contracted to sell to said second
party the following described property, to wit; the unexpired lease-hold
interest in and to all that tract, lot or parcel of land situate, lying
and being in the county and state aforesaid and in the city of Brunswick
therein, and in that part of said city known as “Town Commons”, and being
known, numbered and designated on the official map of said Town Commons of
file in the office of the clerk of the Mayor & Council of said City, as
the western one half (1/2) of town commons lot numbered one hundred and
forty four (144) lying between Albany, Wolf, “J” and “K” Streets in said
city, said half of said lot
being bounded east ninety (90) feet by the eastern half
of said lot 144, on the north ninety (90) feet by a portion of lot 143, on
the west ninety feet (90) by Wolf Street and on the south ninety feet by a
portion of lot 145.
And whereas, said second
party did at the time of said contract of purchase go into possession of
said described one half of said lot 144 and did erect valuable
improvements thereon and has since remained in actual, peaceable and
exclusive possession thereof.
And whereas, on the 21st
day of May 1889, said second party having fully paid to said first party
the purchase price of said half of said lot 144, said first party did
sign, seal and deliver a deed to said second party in which said deed is
was the intention of said first party to convey to said second party said
unexpired lease-hold interest in and to said western half of said lot 144,
the said lease-hold interest having been granted to said first party by
the Mayor & Council of said city of February 23rd, 1870, for a term of
years expiring on March 2nd, 1967.
And whereas, said deed
was defectively drawn by error and mistake of the scrivener that it failed
to express the true intent of the parties thereto and did not properly
convey the said western one-half of said lot 144 as was intended to be
conveyed.
Now therefore in order to
reform the said deed and without resorting to a court of equity or law for
that purpose, and to make said deed speak the truth and to carry out the
true intent and meaning of the parties thereto and to ratify and confirm
said contract of sale and for any and all purposes of making perfect the
title to said half of said lot.
The said party of the
first part for and in consideration of the sum of five dollars to him in
hand paid and for other good and valuable considerations him thereunto,
assign, set over and convey unto the said second party, her heirs and
assigns, the unexpired lease-hold interest in and to the said western
one-half (1/2) of said Town Commons lot number One hundred and forty four
(144) lying between Wolf, Albany, “J” and “K” Streets in said city as
hereinbefore described, with all the rights, members, improvements,
privileges and appurtenances to the same in any manner belonging or
appertaining.
To have and to hold the
same for and during the full and and [sic] term of said unexpired
lease-hold interest in said lot, which lease-hold interest is held under a
lease from of same granted to said first party by the
Mayor & Council of said city on February 23rd, 1870 for a term of years
expiring on March second A.D. nineteen hundred and sixty seven (1967) so
that neither the said first party nor any one claiming or to claim by
through or under him shall have any right, claim, demand, or title thereon
or thereto.
In witness whereof the
said party of the first part has hereunto set his hand and affixed his
seal and delivered these presents, this the day and year first hereinabove
written and mentioned.

This Indenture, made and
entered into on this the 15th day of December, A.D. 1904, by and between
Mrs. Laura Southard of the county and state aforesaid and
hereinafter designated as the first party, and Marcus A. Baker of
the same place and hereinafter designated as the second party.
Witnesseth, that said
first party, for and in consideration of the sum of Five hundred ($500)
Dollars lawful money of the United States to her in hand paid, by said
second party at and before the signing, sealing and delivery of these
presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged has granted,
bargained, sold, assigned, transferred, set over and conveyed, and by
these presents does grant, bargain, sell, assign, transfer set over and
convey unto said second party, his heirs and assigns, the following
property to wit; the unexpired lease-hold interest in and to all that
tract, lot or parcel of land, situate, lying and being in the county and
state aforesaid, and in the city of Brunswick therein and in that part of
said city known as “Town Commons” and being known, numbered and designated
on the official map of said town commons of file in the office of the
clerk of the Mayor & Council of said city as the western one-half (1/2) of
town commons lot number one hundred and forty four (144) lying between
Albany, Wolf “J” and “K” Streets in said city, said half of said lot being
bounded on the east ninety (90) feet by the eastern half of said lot one
hundred and forty four (144) on the north ninety (90) feet by a portion of
lot in said block numbered one hundred and forty three (143) on the south
ninety (90) feet by a portion of lot in said block numbered one hundred
and forty five (145), and on the west by Wolf Street.
To have and to hold said
western one half (1/2) of said lot 144 together with all and singular the
rights, members, improvements and appurtenance to the same belonging or
appertaining unto said second party, his heirs and assigns, for and during
the remainder of the unexpired lease-hold interest in the same under the
original lease granted by the Mayor and council of said city, which
lease-hold interest does not expire until March 2nd, 1967.
And said first party for
herself and for her heirs, executors and administrators the right and
title to the said unexpired lease-hold interest unto said second party,
his heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend against the claim of
demand of any and all persons whomsoever, by virtue of these presents.
In witness whereof said

lord, nineteen hundred and four (1904) by and between W.J. Clubb,
of said county and state, the party of the first part; and Laurence
Johnson, Trustee, for his wife Mary T. Johnson, and their
children, by her born and to be born, and Mary T. Johnson,

county as party of the first part, and Mrs. M.E. Davidson, also of said
county, as party of the second part;
Witnesseth, that the said party of the first part, for and in
consideration of the sum of Eight hundred forty dollars ($840) cash in hand
paid, at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold and conveyed, and
doth by these presents grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of
the second part, her heirs and assigns, all of that certain tract, lot or parcel
of land situate, lying and being in said state and county, and in the city of
Brunswick therein, and being that part of that certain lot designated upon the
map or plan of said city, as made by George R. Baldwin in the year A.D.
1837 as Old town lot number Two hundred and one (201) being the eastern ninety
by one hundred (90 x 100) feet, described as follows; to wit;
Commencing at a point one hundred and eight (180) feet south of the
south western intersection of Union and Howe streets and running thence in a
southerly direction along the western side of Union street, ninety (90) feet
thence in a westerly along the dividing line between Old town lots number two
hundred and one (201) and two hundred and two (202), a distance of One hundred
feet (100), thence in a northerly direction across said lot number two hundred
(200) and two hundred and one (201), thence eastwardly along said dividing line
one hundred (100) feet to the point of beginning.
Together with all and singular the rights, members and appurtenances
thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining.
To have and to hold the said tract of land unto the said party of
the second part her heirs and assigns, forever, in fee simple.
And the right and title thereof unto the said party of the second
part, her heirs and assigns, the said party of the first part will, and his
heirs, executors and administrators shall forever warrant and defend against the
claims and demands of any and all persons whomsoever.

This Indenture, made and entered into on this fifteenth day of April Anno domini One thousand eight hundred and eighty four by and between Gustavus Friedlander formerly of said county and state but at present temporarily residing in the city of San Francisco, in the state of California, and setting by and through his duly constituted
Attorney in fact (under a power of attorney dated the
nineteenth day of May in the year eighteen hundred and eighty and duly signed,
sealed and delivered for the purposed William A.O. Anderson of the county
and state first aforesaid, party of the first part, and Peter Christopher,
Samuel Wilson, Lemuel Richardson, Henry Williams and Abram Sadler,
all of the county and state first aforesaid, as Trustees for the First Bryant
Baptist church colored of the city of Brunswick in the county and state first
above written, parties of the second part;
Witnesseth, that the party of the first part for and in
consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars lawful money of the United
States to him in hand cash counted and paid at and before the ensealing and
delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged has
granted, bargained, sold, aliened, remised, released, enfeoffed[?], confirmed
and conveyed, and does by these presents grant, bargain, sell, alien, release,
remise, enfeoff[?] confirm and convey unto the said parties of the second part
in trust to and for the sole, separate, absolute and exclusive use, benefit,
advantage, and behoof of the said First Bryant Baptist church colored of the
said city of Brunswick, all of that certain lot, tract, or parcel of land
situate, lying and being in the said city of Brunswick, county of Glynn and
state of Georgia, and containing twenty seven hundred square feet and forming in
shape a rectangle having ends thirty and sides ninety feet long, and fronting on
“F” Street, in said city of Brunswick, thirty feet and running back and
preserving that width a distance of ninety feet said lot, tract or parcel of
land being the western one0sixth of that lot of land identified on Baldwin’s
map of said city of Brunswick, as Old town lot number three hundred and fifty
seven (357) and bounded north by said street, east by the remainder of said lot
south by Old town lot three hundred and fifty eight and west by Carpenter
street.
Together with all and singular the tenements, and hereditaments, the
remainders and reversions, the rights, members and appurtenances unto the same
in every manner belonging.
To have and to hold the said bargained and above described premises
together with the appurtenances unto the said parties of the second part, as
such trustees and in trust as aforesaid, and to and for the purpose of erecting
churches, or meeting-house, upon said granted and above described lot, tract or
parcel of land for the uses of the said First Bryant Baptist church colored of
Brunswick, aforesaid, and to their successors in said trust upon the same said
uses and trusts forever and in fee simple.

This Indenture, made and entered into
on this the 10th day of January 1905, by and between J.J. Smith, party of
the first part and Oren S. Lancaster, a married woman having a separate
estate, party of the second part, each of said state and county.
Witnesseth, that for and in
consideration of the sum of hone hundred and fifty dollars ($150) cash in hand
paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged before the signing and delivery
of these presents, the said party of the first part has this day bargained, sold
and conveyed, and by these presents does bargains, sell and convey unto the said
party of the second part, her heirs and assigns; all that tract of land
containing ten (10) acres of land more or less, situate in the 26th district,
G.M. Glynn County, Georgia, and described as follows; commencing at a light wood
stake on the ditch on the south side of Thomas W. Lamb's line outside his
pasture fence, and running south 19 degrees east along the eastern line of lands
belonging to the Brunswick Investment company, four hundred and sixty (460) feet
to a stake corner; thence south 85 1/2 degrees east nine hundred and fifty (950)
feet to a stake on the line of the survey made by Urbanus Dart of the
Demere Hammock tract" of one hundred and eighty six acres in 1855; thence along
the line of said survey north 12 degrees 45 minutes east four hundred (400) feet
to a stake on Lamb's ditch; thence along the line of said ditch north 85
1/2 degrees west eleven hundred and eighty eight (1188) feet to the stake at the
point of beginning, as per a plat of same made by E.A. Penniman, County
Surveyor, April 25th 1895, appearing of record in Volume NN folio 364 of the
general records of Glynn county Ga., reference being had thereto for all
purposes.
Together with all the rights,
members, improvements and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise
appertaining.
To have and to hold the above
described, bargained premises to the said party of the second part, her heirs
and assigns forever in fee simple.
And the said party of the first part
will, and his heirs, executors and administrators shall, the title to the said
above described property unto the said party of the second part her heirs,
executors, administrators and assigns, forever warrant and defend against the
lawful claims and demands of any and all persons whomsoever.

Know all these presents, that I,
Butler Yopp, of said state and county, and city, do hereby acknowledge
myself held and firmly bound unto Miss Frankie St. Clair, of the said
state, county and city, in the full and just sum of Two hundred ($200) Dollars,
for the payment of which well and truly to be made, I bind myself, my heirs,
executors and administrators firmly and severally by these presents, signed,
sealed and delivered this 2nd, day of February Nineteen hundred and three.
The conditions of the above bond are
such that whereas, the said Butler Yopp, has this day agreed to sell and
convey unto the said Frankie St. Clair, a tract of land in the City of
Brunswick Glynn County Ga., and known as the northwest portion of town commons
lot sixty three (63) between H and I streets and fronting forty five (45) feet
on Stonewall street and running back one hundred (100) feet, commencing at a
point on the northern line of town commons lot number sixty three (63) on
Stonewall street, and running east one hundred (100) feet on town commons lot
number sixty five (65), thence south forty five (45) feet, thence west one
hundred (100) feet, thence north forty five (45) feet, to the point of
beginning.
The terms of said sale being that the
said Miss Frankie St. Clair, shall pay in cash this day fifty dollars
($50) the receipt hereby acknowledged, and has executed his note for fifty
dollars ($50) due in four months from date. Should the said Frankie St.
Clair, make default in the payment of said note within thirty (30) days
after same becomes due, in that event the fifty dollars ($50) paid shall be held
as rent for said premises, and the said obligator shall have the right to enter
and take possession of said premises and the said Frankie St. Clair,
agrees to surrender and yield said premises without let or hindrance, and
forfeit the fifty dollars ($50) previously paid.
Now therefore should I, the said
Butler Yopp, upon payment by Miss Frankie St. Clair of said note unto
said Butler Yopp, shall make and execute deed and sufficient titles,
selling and conveying all my interest, especially my lease hold interest, which
I have in the above described property, and in that event this bond is void,
otherwise in full force.

This agreement witnesseth, that I have agreed to
purchase of Jesse French Piano and Organ company, a Richmond Piano,
number 46506, for $375.00 payable as follows, $10.00 on Jany 12th, 05,
balance payable $8.00 per month, as evidenced by contract bearing even
date this signed by me.
The title to the above described property is to be and
remain in the Jesse French Piano and Organ company until all of the
above purchase money and expenses of collecting same are paid.

the east line of fourteenth street seven hundred an fifty (750) feet to
the north line of New York avenue; thence eastwardly along the north line
of new york avenue four hundred and fifty (450) feet to the west line of
twelfth street, and thence northwardly along the west line of twelfth
street seven hundred and fifty (750) feet to the initial point and bounded
north by Louise avenue, west by fourteenth street; south by
new york avenue, and east by Twelfth street, and being
readily identified by reference to the map of Naval city made by E.A.

described premises, together with the appurtenances, unto the party of the

heirs, executors and administrators shall, the said bargained and above
described tract of land and its appurtenances unto the party of the second
part, and his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, by virtue of
these presents, and against the claims of all persons whomsoever, warrant
and forever defend.

between the Empire Trust Company, being a corporation duly created
by law, of the State of New York, as party of the first part, and Davis
& Brandon, a firm of co-partners of Camden County, Georgia composed of
J.S.N. Davis, Jr. and G.W. Brandon, as party of the second

for and in consideration of the sum of Five Thousand ($5,000) dollars to
it cash in hand paid at end before the sealing, and delivery of these
presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted,

and wood situate, standing, lying or being on COLONEL'S ISLAND in Glynn
County, Georgia, saving and excepting such hard wood trees, other then
pine trees, as are not growing in the swamps or ponds on said Island, and
saving and excepting especially such live oak or other hard wood trees,
other than pine, as are growing at or near any of the water landings on
said Island which would be reasonably desired at such places for shade
trees or for ornamental purposes.
It is intended that the timber and trees, tree tops,
logs, stumps and wood intended to be conveyed by the operation of this
conveyance as hereinbefore specified shall be used by the parties of the
second part for any use and in any manner which they may desire,
including, among others, the right to use or work the same in any manner
they may desire in the manufacture of rosin and spirits of turpentine and
other naval store products. In order that the same may be used, the
said parties of the second part are granted the right to still end mill
locations for manufacturing purposes, and are hereby granted full end
complete rights of ingress and egress to and from and over and upon said
Island for the purpose of working, manufacturing and otherwise using and
enjoying the same.
Saving and excepting, however, to the party of the
first part, its successors and assigns, pending the term of the duration
of this conveyance, the right to lease said Island

Lang & Wood, material men, a firm composed of W.L.
Lang & J.W. Wood, claim a lien on the house of Alma Holmes,
and the real estate on which it is built, to wit; the eastern one-half of
town commons lot #104 (one hundred and four) between albany and amherst
streets in the city of brunswick Georgia, for furnishing material for
improvements of the same.

This bill of sale made and entered into on this the
11th day of March 1905, by and between Mrs. W.B. Manoe, of said
state and county, as the party of the first part, and A.R. Berrie,
of said state and county, as the party of the second part,;
Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the sum of
two hundred and seventy dollars ($270) cash in hand well and truly counted
and paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said party of the first part
has granted, bargained, sold and conveyed, and by these presents do grant,
bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part, his heirs
and assigns, the following described personal property to wit;
Thirty (30) head of cattle marked as follows,; swallow
fork in one ear, crop and two splits in the other ear; all of said cattle
being now on Blythe Island in said county and state.
To have and to hold the said above described property,
unto the the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever.
And the right and title to the said above described
property the party of the first part will warrant and forever defend
against claims of any and all persons whomsoever.
In witness whereof the said party of the first part has
hereunto set her hand and affixed her seal on this the day and year fist
above written and mentioned.
