Confederate Soldier's Exemption 1900
Medical Excuse Brunswick, Georgia 14 November 1900 This is to certify that I have this day examined Robt. Clubb of the county of Glynn who is a subject of chronic rheumatism and which greatly disables him from the performances of labor and so my opinion he is entitled to the exemptions under the ??? laws of this state for said disability. Signed: J.A. Butts, M.D. State of Georgia, County of Glynn: Personally appeared Robert Clubb, who being duly swore, says on oath that he served in the 4th Georgia Regiment of the Confederate Army, that he is over fifty years of age and has resided in this state three years next preceding the filing of this affidavit: that he purposed to farming and selling stock and that the business which he proposes to carry on is his own, and that he will not sell or offer for sale any articles for another, directly or indirectly. Dart, Clerk of Ordinary, Glynn County, Georgia Application of Survey Warrant Georgia} To the Ordinary of said County. The petition of R.S. Clubb respectfully showeth that he is a citizen of the said State and County and the head of a family and is entitled under the laws of said State to headright of land. Wherefore your petitioner prays the granting of a warrant directed to the County Surveyor of said County requiring him to view a certain tract of marsh land situate, lying, and being in the county and State aforesaid containing about fifteen acres which I allege to be vacant bounded as follows: on the north and west by lands of the estate of H.C. Day on the northeast by lands of Theodore Clark on the south and west by lands of himself. Petitioner alleges that said land is vacant and no one is now in possession thereof and petioner further prays (I am missing the rest of this document) Warrant for Survey Georgia} To E.A. Penniman Esq. county surveyor of said county you are hereby required and commanded to view that piece or parcel of marshland situate lying and being in the County and State aforesaid containing about fifteen acres alleged by R.S. Clubb to be vacant in his petition duly filed for headright to wit a piece or parcel of land bounded on the north and west by lands of the estate of H.C. Day on the northeast by lands of Theodore Clark on the south and west by land of himself and of upon due examination of the adjoining surveys you are satisfied that the same is vacant or any part thereof you do make of what you may find to be vacant an accurate survey of not more than one thousand acres forsaid R.S. Clubb and a plat of the same and return the same to the ordinary of said County with your official certificate as to its accuracy the time of survey an your opinion that the same is vacant within the time prescribed by law and also this warrant. Dart, Ordinary Subpoena for Headright Georgia, Glynn County: To Cornelius Clark, you are hereby notified that I intend to apply for a headright on a certain piece of vacant land situate lying and being in the county and state aforesaid containing about fifteen acres which I allege to be vacant bounded as follows: on the north and west by the lands of the estate of H.C. Day, on the north east by the lands of Theodore Clark and on the south and west by lands of myself. 13 April 1889. Respectfully, R.S. Clubb On the back of this document: I have this day served R.T.
