Luncheon Itinerary
Oglethorpe Hotel
While doing a bit of research on the Oglethorpe Hotel, I have come across a wealth of information. Some from Darren Harper of the Bryan-Lang Historical Library in Woodbine, Camden Co., Georgia. One of the many Oglethorpe Hotel pieces in Darren Harper's collection, is a copy of a schedule for the premiere showing of "The View from Pompey's Head." This movie was filmed partially in Brunswick in the 1950s and includes scenes from the Oglethorpe Hotel, Jekyll Island, and more. Although it doesn't have much in the way of genealogical importance, it is a piece of the hotel history, and there are a few locals mentioned. The following is a transcription of the schedule.
