George Edward Ferrell worked on the tug boat Inca in Glynn Co during the late 1800's, after moving to Darien he became a harbor pilot until abt 1930.

In 1898 George was charged with neglect of duty. The complaint was from Brady, master of the ship Avon. The charge was "NEGLECT OF  DUTY" , FAILURE TO CARRY HIS SHIP TO SEA NOV. 30. 1898.

Mr. Ferrell was found guilty and fined $ 250.00 and cost. a great sum in that day and time. The charge was serious. Ferrell's appeal was rejected.
