QUARTERMAN, Argris (Paulk)

            Argris Paulk Quarterman, 92, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2013, in Fernandina Beach, Fla.
            A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Twitty Chapel of the First Baptist Church, 70 Manisfield [sic] St., Brunswick, with the Rev. Jim Crandall officiating. Interment was private.
            Honorary pallbearers will be the Grace Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church of Brunswick.
            Mrs. Quarterman was a homemaker, kindergarten teacher, and loving wife and mother. She was a Christian and an active member of the First Baptist Church of Brunswick for 81 years. Her world revolved around her family and church friends, and she appreciated their attention and love. She lived in the home, which she and her husband, Ned, designed and built, for 58 years until the age of 91, when she moved to Fernandina Beach, Fla.
            She was born to Leon and Selma Paulk in 1920 and was married for 38 years to her husband, Ned, who preceded her in death in 1979.
            They had two sons, Ed (Linda) of Columbia, S.C., and Jim (Sharon) of Fernandina Beach, Fla. Her grandchildren include Mandy Quarterman Williams, Lindsay Quarterman Laxton, Brian Quarterman and Brent Quarterman. She also had six great-grandchildren. Her next-door neighbor, Jimmy Williamson, was also considered to be a member of the family. She enjoyed many trips and activities with her buddies, Linda Gibbs, Martha Fiveash and Louise Evans.
            In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Brunswick, 708 Manisfield [sic] St., Brunswick, GA, or to Hospice of Northeast Florida.
            Arrangements have been entrusted to Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home and Oglethorpe Crematorium in Brunswick.

 

QUARTERMAN, Louise (Lockley)

QUARTERMAN RITES TO BE ON MONDAY

            Services for Louise Lockley Quarterman, who died Tuesday at the local hospital, will be Monday at 4 p.m. at Rising Daughter Baptist Church in Waverly with Elder A. Crawford officiating.
            Interment will be at Blue Cemetery in Brookman.
            Active pallbearers will be Johnny Hippard, Michcel Mack, Kenneth Lockley, Tyrone Hall, James Bailey and Marvin Fleming.
            Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Hippard, Robert Mack, MA2 [sic] Joseph Davis, Joseph Demery Sr., Morrison Waye, James Mack Jr. and Michael Nelson.
            Mrs. Quarterman was a native of Glynn County and a member of Resurrection Church of God in Christ.
            She is survived by a step-daughter, Catherine S. Fleming of Brunswick; three nieces, including Lizzie Mack with whom she lived, and a nephew, and other relatives.
            Collins’ Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

QUARTERMAN, Robert F.
The Brunswick Advertiser & Appeal; Saturday 28 March 1885; pg. 6 col. 5

DIED—In Flemington, Liberty county, Ga., on the 24th inst., Mr. Robert F. Quarterman. The deceased was a brother-in-law of the editor of this paper, and had been for nearly his entire life a great sufferer from an affection of the eyes, from which he lost the use of those organs several years since.

 

QUARTERMAN, Thomas W.

            Thomas W. Quarterman, aged seventy-six, died in Darien on Wednesday morning.
